Tata Motors’ Dharwad plant operational
Mumbai: Tata Motors’ Dharwad plant for small commercial vehicles is now operational and has begun to produce the Tata Ace Zip and the Tata Magic IRIS.

Launched in May 2011, the Tata Magic IRIS is a four-wheel, three-four seater small passenger carrier, while the Tata Ace Zip, also launched in May 2011, is a micro truck with a payload of 600 kg.
Established with an investment of over Rs 900 crore, the plant's capacity is 90,000 units per year, to be achieved in phases. Further capacity expansion has also been provided for, a company press release said. The plant has already directly employed 350 individuals.
