Hyundai launches new Elantra mid-size sedan at Rs 12.5 lakh
New Delhi: Hyundai has launched the new Elantra mid-size sedan in India at an introductory price of Rs 12.51 lakh.
Available in both diesel and petrol variants, the car is based on the Korean company's new fluidic design philosophy first seen with the new Verna.
The new Elantra will compete in a segment dominated by the Chevrolet Cruze, apart from Skoda Laura, Volkswagen Jetta, Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic.
Hyundai hopes the fifth generation Elantra to be top-seller in executive sedan segment.The company has invested Rs 200 crore at its Chennai plant to produce the sedan.It has received 750 pre-bookings for the Elantra.
Hyundai said that the executive sedan market size is 2,800 units a month.
