The German triad (BMW, Audi and Mercedes) has on offer the most ‘affordable’ luxury cars in India. On the back of these affordable vehicles, these luxury car cos have paved their way into the domestic car market. BMW pioneered with X1 crossover as the least expensive luxury crossover followed by Audi’s Q3.

BMW X1 account for a major chunk of the car major’s monthly sales however with the launch of Q3 it did get a tough competitor. In wake of continuing its reign, BMW is here with the latest version of BMW X1 crossover. BMW has emphasised on the styling of the crossover and hence has given styling tweaks to X1.

New X1 is proffered in three trims which include, the base, xLine and Sportline. The base version of this jaw dropping feature loaded powerful crossover is available at Rs 27.9 lakhs which is a tad less than the new Audi Q3 that also launched recently in petrol version only. The other two trims, namely BMW xLIne and BMW Sportsline are on offer at Rs 32. 5 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

New BMW X1  is powered by a sturdy 2.0 litre four pot diesel motor that has also been modified to pump out more power than its antecedent. This 181 BHP diesel motor is synchronized to a new eight speed automatic gearbox. The engine has a start stop function, apart from this the crossover brags a ECO PRO mode, disengagable climate compressor and brake energy regeneration.
