Reducing the effect of a crash is always good, but completely preventing it is even better. Which is exactly where automatic brakes come in - a system which gives the car's computer authority to automatically perform an emergency stop if necessary. Already available on a handful top-end models we can look forward to this technology cascading down to mass market models.
