Car: Vauxhall VX220
Feature: Door catch
On the face of it, a door catch has absolutely no right to be annoying. It's just something that is, that you never notice and which performs its role of preventing your door falling open. Vauxhall's VX220 has personality door catches. Unfortunately that personality is not a nice personality. They're horrible little things.
A VX220 is difficult enough to get out of at the best of times. I once fell out of one into a present left by the neighbour's dog while trying to effect a graceful exit, so VX220 egress is a bit of a sore point. If you're anything above about 5'4" your rear end will come perilously close to the pole-like door catches. These catches will then hook into the back pocket of your jeans and tear it clean off. Three pairs of Levis fell victim during a long term VX220 tenure. A friend once got out of the car and I heard the tell-tale rip. "That'll be your jeans pocket." It wasn't. It was his hamstring.
