2009 was a very bad time to relaunch a luxury brand. Aston Martin trumpeted at the time that 'Lagonda is the luxury car of the future' as it unveiled its Lagonda SUV prototype. However, the harsh reality was that pretty much everyone who saw the new Lagonda loathed it, and perhaps mercifully the global economic crisis sealed its fate. (Reuters)
